There are criminals all over the world and in recent years they have been taking advantage of the Internet. They have been hacking into people’s accounts, stealing personal information, and creating a bunch of scams. AntivirusAgent is one of the scams that they have made and many people have been falling for it. Don’t let this rogue take advantage of you too.
AntivirusAgent is a rogue antivirus program with an attractive interface. Don’t let its appearance fool you though. It is still a malicious scam despite how pretty it looks. It will use very devious methods in order to infect your computer. While it can be downloaded manually and willingly, it is more common for it to infect computers through Trojan horses like Zlob or Vundu.
Once it has infected a computer, it will instantly start to slow it down. It will then start generating pop-ups and fake security warnings. The warnings will be true in that they will tell the user that their computer is infected with malicious software. But it will only point to other programs and claim that they are harmful.
The security messages will urge the user to allow AntivirusAgent to perform a scan of their system. Once the phony scan is completed, a fake list of infections will be generated. These imaginary threats will be used to pressure the user to pay to register the program.
The full registered version of AntivirusAgent is useless. It will not remove any threats that may exist because it simply doesn’t have the capability to. It will only continue to harass the user and slow down their computer and Internet connection. It may possibly secretly download other malware without the user’s permission. These programs could very easily lower all of your security settings.
This threat should be removed as soon as possible from any computer that it has infected. It is best to get an authentic antispyware program so that AntivirusAgent and all other threats can thoroughly be removed. But be careful. There are rogue antispyware programs out there too.
When looking for an antispyware program, you should make sure that both the company and the program are legitimate. Read up on the company and make sure they are committed to your computer’s health. Also make sure that the antispyware is guaranteed to remove 100% of spyware. Your computer deserves to be fully protected and partial protecting just isn’t good enough.
